Over the last four years, Freeflow participants have explored diverse and iconic rivers, landscapes, ecosystems, and communities across the West.
Since its inaugural season in 2018, Freeflow Institute has sent students into the field to learn skills based in creative writing, journalism, environmental studies, creative leadership, and law and policy.

ACCESS
Scholarships & Travel Fund
- Raise $10,000 for our Community Scholarship Fund.
- Raise $4,000 for our travel fund.

EQUITY
Eliminate Barriers
- Build our inclusive gear lending library that will include enough river and backpacking gear to support six scholars on-course at a time.
- Build an online resource hub that provides written and visual aids to understanding gear and outdoor skills, so that our scholars can experience outdoor spaces comfortably, confidently and safely.

Mentorship
Build Pathways
- Create a mentorship program for our scholarship recipients, in which one-on-one relationships provide substantive support before, during and after Freeflow courses

Expand our Organization
- Grow our staff through a dedicated Director role to make our work more sustainable and impactful for the long-term
